Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kryklii says Boryspil International Airport has started accepting electronic passports in the Diia ("Action") mobile application for digital IDs to identify passengers checking in for domestic flights.

"From today, travelers may present digital versions of their national passport or biometric foreign travel passports via the Diia app at Boryspil [International] Airport instead of traditional ones. The State Aviation Administration of Ukraine [SAAU] has approved the relevant changes to the airport's technological instructions," he wrote on Facebook on July 21.

Kryklii added that airports in the cities of Odesa, Lviv, and Kherson would also start accepting digital passports via the app by the upcoming weekend.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in April 2020, Ukraine's Digital Transformation Ministry presented electronic passports and student ID cards in the Diia mobile app for digitized documents.
