Andriy Shevchenko and Serhiy Nazarenko each scored a second-half goal Wednesday to help Ukraine beat Serbia 2-0 in an international friendly, according to Associated Press.
Shevchenko scored in the 54th minute by changing the direction of Denis Golaido`s shot on goal after a corner. Nazarenko doubled the lead four minutes later.
The match was the first for Ukraine`s new coach, Alexei Mikhailichenko.
His predecessor, Oleh Blokhin, led Ukraine to the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Germany two years ago but resigned after failing to lead his team to this year`s European Championship.
