Tymoshchuk to bring UEFA Cup in Kyiv

“I did not forget where I was born..."

Former captain of Shakhtar football club (Donetsk), and currently captain of Zenit FC (St. Petersburg), who won the UEFA Cup 2008, Anatoliy Tymoshchuk will bring the UEFA Cup in Kyiv, and will meet with President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, he claimed this to a press conference in Donetsk on Monday.

“In Kyiv I’m about to meet with the President, to hold a press conference, and to meet with fans”, A.Tymoshchuk said.

He stressed that, for him, Ukraine is always the Motherland. “I did not forget where I was born, and from what country I descend. On the day of the UEFA Cup finals in Manchester, my parents brought me the flag of Ukraine, and I tied it on my neck with pleasure after the victory”, A.Tymoshchuk said.

He also thanked Donbass and Ukraine for support.
