President Victor Yushchenko wrote a letter to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko with a request to work out measures on managing issues in Ukraine’s preparation to holding EURO 2012, according to the President`s press-office. Importance of that President explained with a need to present a report on the measures taken at UEFA Strategic Council meeting, which is scheduled on June 27.
The measures, President Yushchenko requested the Government to take should be aimed at forming a package of legal acts and instructions aimed at stirring up projects in preparation to EURO 2012. According to him most important directions here are construction works at Olimpiysky stadium in Kyiv and preparation of airports to holding the event.
In his letter President requested that the Government prepared before June 20, 2008 a model of management and organization of the arrangements and projects within the framework of preparation to the championship in compliance with UEFA regulations. He also asked the Prime Minister to impose disciplinary penalties upon those responsible for delaying adoption of important documents in that field.
