Ukraine boxer Vasyl Lomachenko exacted a measure of revenge during his opening bout Monday in Beijing, according to CBC Sports.

Lomachenko upset Russian and defending world champion Albert Selimov 14-7 to advance to the next round of the 57-kilogram division.

At the world championships in Chicago last year, Selimov defeated Lomachenko in convincing fashion.

But the Ukraine fighter bounced back on Monday, ending Selimov`s Olympic tournament early. Trailing 2-0 after the first round, Lomachenko took the next two rounds 13-3 and never looked back.

In other 57kg action, China`s Li Yang easily disposed of Brazil`s Robson Conceicao 12-4, Luis Porozo of Ecuador edged Roberto Navarro from the Dominican Republic in a decision, Uzbekistan,`s Bahodirjon Sultonov beat Anthresh Lalit Lakra 9-5, American Raynell Williams dominated Italy`s Alessio di Savino 9-1 and French fighter Khedafi Djelkhir advanced with a 13-9 win over Paul Fleming of Australia.
