Milan were knocked out of the Coppa Italia last night, however, Shevchenko managed to get his name on the score sheet and the Ukrainian was pleased with his strike.

The Rossoneri were eliminated from the Coppa Italia last night, as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Lazio.

Milan took the lead through Andriy Shevchenko with just over ten minutes remaining, only to see Mauro Zarate equalize from the spot three minutes from time. Goran Pandev scored a goal in extra time, ending the Rossoneri’s quest for Coppa Italia glory.

Despite this however, Shevchenko was pleased to score at the San Siro once again for his club, and was evidently content following the match.

“At last I managed to score a goal against an Italian opposition, and I’m very happy that it came at the San Siro,” he said.

“I feel better now, I`m growing and I’m happy.

“For me the most important thing is to play, and perform at the best of my ability for my team,” he added.

Sheva was disappointed with the final result on the night; however he concluded by saying that, “tonight, I am just happy for my goal.”
