Andriy Voronin says he would welcome an Anfield recall.

The Liverpool striker is currently on a season long loan with German side Hertha Berlin and has helped fire them to third in the Bundesliga, two points behind leaders Hoffenheim. However, the Ukrainian says he would return to Anfield if required if Rafael Benitez decided he was short on striking cover.

"There have not been any talks between [Hertha general manager] Dieter Hoeness, my agent and me. We want to have talks with Berlin quickly, although I know my agent has been talking to Liverpool recently," said Voronin.

"I still have a contract there. And now Keane has been sold. Before he came last summer I was playing regularly under Rafael Benitez.

"They have a shortage of strikers now. I would enjoy staying at Hertha but, if I am not to stay on, I will give my very best until the very end."
