Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Minister for Family, Youth and Sport Viktor Korzh discussed the process of preparation for hosting the European Football Championship in 2012, according to the government’s press-office.
Viktor Yanukovych has commissioned to elaborate a draft resolution on creating an Organization Committee for preparation and holding Euro-2012. Besides, a governmental body on coordinating preparation issues for the Championship and in the match host cities – working groups under regional state administrations will be created. By the UEFA request, a Supervisory Board of company representatives of UEFA, Ukraine and Poland hosting Euro-2012 will be established.
“Time for celebrating victory of Ukraine and Poland in the contest for hosting Euro-2012 is over. Today it is necessary to begin our laborious daily work, the Prime Minister said. We are to spare no effort to successfully prepare for welcome to the footballers and fans”.
The preparation for Euro-2012 has been also discussed during a telephone conversation of Viktor Yanukovych with President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Hryhoriy Surkis.
