The government will find levels of influence in its dialogue with hotels in order to make hotel prices acceptable for Euro-2012 guests’ stay in Ukraine, according to Information Centre Ukraine-2012. This comment on news media reports about the tendency towards price growth in host cities’ hotels on the eve of the European Football Championship has been made by Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister and Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov.

“Poverty gives rise to greed. In our time we exempted hotels from taxes for 10 years, looking forward to their loyalty. But now we have this kind of response. But anyway, we shall find levers in the government to influence their business appetites,” Ukrinform quotes Borys Kolesnikov as saying.

Besides this, according to the vice prime minister, the initiative of opening Ukraine’s sky for all air companies of the world will enable football fans to arrive for matches and return on the same day. They will be able to take advantage of this opportunity if they regard hotel accommodation too expensive.
