Russian-led forces have violated a newly agreed ceasefire from 00:01 on March 5, 2018, having mounted three targeted attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

"Despite a joint decision by the Trilateral Contact Group on the ceasefire, the Russian occupation troops have not stopped shelling the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine today. During the day, the invaders have mounted three targeted attacks on the Ukrainian army's strongholds," the press center of the headquarters of Ukraine's military operations said in an evening update as of 18:00 on March 5, 2018.

In the Luhansk direction, the enemy used 82mm mortars, automatic heavy-duty grenade launchers and small arms to attack Ukrainian troops stationed near the town of Shchastia. The truce near the village of Troyitske was violated with the use of 82mm mortars and large-caliber machine guns.

In the Donetsk sector, the Russian proxies resorted to grenade launchers and small arms near the village Novotroyitske.

As UNIAN reported earlier, participants in the Minsk Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the Donbas crisis on February 28 agreed on a full-ceasefire in Donbas from 00:01 on March 5.
