"The occupiers used 152mm and 122mm artillery systems, and 120mm and 82mm mortars 13 times. One Ukrainian soldier was killed, while three others were wounded. According to intelligence data, four fighters of the Russian-terrorist forces were killed and four others were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on May 23, 2018.

In the Luhansk sector, the enemy fired a heavy machine gun at the village of Stanytsia Luhanska, and did not stop trying to weaken the defensive lines of the Ukrainian troops near the village of Troyitske.

In the Horlivka sector, the aggressor was active near the villages of Travneve, Zaitseve and Pivdenne, while in the Donetsk sector it opened fire near the towns of Avdiyivka and Krasnohorivka, and the village of Opytne.

The situation aggravated in the Mariupol sector, namely near the villages of Talakivka, Vodiane and Shyrokyne. From 19:00 to 21:00, the enemy was shelling Talakivka, having launched over ninety 152mm shells. There were no casualties among civilians, however industrial premises were damaged.
