Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 21 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action (WIA).

"According to intelligence reports, two occupiers were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on July 9, 2018.

In the Luhansk sector, the situation was calm during the day. However, the enemy was active in the Horlivka and Svitlodarsk sectors. In particular, the aggressor opened fire at the Ukrainian positions near the village of Pivdenne and the town of Svitlodarsk, using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. A Ukrainian soldier was wounded near Pivdenne.

The situation remained tense in the Donetsk and Mariupol sectors. The enemy used grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms against the Joint Forces 18 times. The defenders of the towns of Avdiyivka and Maryinka, and the villages of Vodiane, Shyrokyne, Lebedynske, Pavlopil and Talakivka came under enemy fire. There have been no casualties among the Ukrainian troops in these areas.

Since day-start, the militants of the Russian occupation forces violated the ceasefire three times. Provocations with the use of small arms were recorded in the Popasna and Mariupol sectors, namely the enemy attacked the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Novozvanivka and Vodiane.
