The SBU Security Service of Ukraine has detained an accomplice of terrorists of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" ("DPR") at Boryspil International Airport while he was attempting to leave for a country in the Middle East.
The SBU officers participating in the Joint Forces Operation found out that a Donetsk businessman had partnered with terrorists for unimpeded road haulage between checkpoints in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, according to the SBU's press center.
"As a token of gratitude, the businessman provided militants with vehicles for transportation and fuel. In addition, the man monthly transferred from RUB 20,000 to RUB 30,000 to a 'deputy' of the so-called 'DPR People's Council' for the assistance," the SBU said.
The detainee is served with charge papers for committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. An investigation is under way.
