Donbas update: Ukraine reports 1 WIA amid 18 enemy attacks
Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 18 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action (WIA) on Friday.
"No casualties among the Ukrainian military were reported yesterday. According to intelligence reports, three occupiers were killed and another one was wounded. Since Friday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted two attacks on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Shyrokyne and Vodiane, as a result of which one Ukrainian soldier was wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on July 20, 2018.
On Thursday, the Russian occupation forces were active in all sectors and opened aimed fire on the defenders of the towns of Svitlodarsk and Avdiyivka, and the villages of Krymske, Zhovte, Luhanske, Maiorsk, Pisky, Kamianka, Novotroyitske, Novomykhailivka, Lebedynske, Hnutove, Shyrokyne and Vodiane.
By their provocative actions, the invaders tried to force the Joint Forces to fire back to continue blaming Ukraine for non-compliance with the newly agreed ceasefire, the JFO press center said.
