Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 39 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another four as wounded in action (WIA).

"According to intelligence reports, three occupiers were killed and another six were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 25, 2018.

Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Svitlodarsk, Avdiyivka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Krymske, Pivdenne, Pisky, Nevelske, Hranitne, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, Vodiane and Shyrokyne.

The invaders also carried out 17 shelling of the Ukrainian positions near Krymske, Pivdenne, Krasnohorivka, Hranitne, Chermalyk, Pavlopil and Lebedynske, using proscribed mortars and cannon artillery systems.

"Over the past day, the Russian occupation forces have also conducted an unaimed fire from 152mm artillery systems at the village of Vrubivka, which is in Luhansk region, resulting in a 35-year-old local resident was killed, buildings and infrastructure were damaged," the press center said.

"Since Saturday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted four attacks on the Ukrainian positions near the town of Maryinka, and the villages of Pivdenne and Novomykhailivka. There have been no casualties among the Ukrainian military since day-start," the report says.
