Spokesman for Ukraine's Defense Ministry Dmytro Hutsuliak says Russian-led forces have stepped up training of their units stationed along the coast of the Azov Sea.

"According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the command of the Russian occupation forces is intensively increasing additional reserves of weapons, military equipment, ammunition, fuel and lubricants and other military equipment in the areas where units of the 1st Army Corps of the Russian Federation are stationed," he said at a briefing on Tuesday, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

"At the same time, under the leadership of Russian military advisers and instructors, the units of the 9th separate assault motorized infantry regiment of the Marine Corps (Novoazovsk) deployed along the coast of the Azov Sea, under the guise of combat readiness training with the ingress to the task execution area, have stepped up training of airborne units, including those intended for conducting sea operations," Hutsuliak said.
