Russian-led forces mounted 32 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in the past day.

"No casualties among the Ukrainian troops have been reported over the past day. According to intelligence reports, three occupiers were killed," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 29, 2018.

Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from cannons of infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Popasna, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka and Maryinka, and the villages of Krymske, Troyitske, Novoluhanske, Mayorsk, Pivdenne, Novhorodske, Novomykhailivka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Vodiane and Shyrokyne. In certain areas, the enemy employed tank guns, 122mm cannon artillery systems, as well as 82mm and 120mm mortars.

In particular, the invaders carried out nine attacks on the Ukrainian positions near Troyitske, Novoluhanske, Novhorodske, Novomykhailivka, Chermalyk, Hnutove, Lebedynske, and Vodiane, using proscribed artillery systems and mortars. In addition, the Ukrainian positions near Lebedynske were attacked by main battle tanks.

Units of the Joint Forces fired back to suppress the enemy's fire activity amid escalation.

"Since Wednesday midnight, Russian-led forces have already mounted two attacks from heavy machine guns on the Ukrainian positions outside the villages of Hnutove and Talakivka," the report says.
