Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 34 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another two as wounded in action (WIA).
"One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another two were wounded in the past day. According to intelligence reports, three occupiers were killed and another three were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 3, 2018.
Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Avdiyivka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Orikhove, Katerynivka, Novozvanivka, Luhanske, Verkhniotoretske, Novotroyitske, Bohdanivka, Starohnativka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne.
The enemy also resorted to 120mm and 82mm mortars twice to shell the Ukrainian positions near Orikhove, while the defenders of Krymske were attacked with the use of 82mm mortars. In addition, the Ukrainian fortified positions near Novotoshkivske, Luhanske, Starohnativka and Lebedynske came under mortar fire. Moreover, the Ukrainian positions in Luhanske and Hnutove came under fire from weapons of infantry fighting vehicles.
"Since Wednesday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted two attacks on the Ukrainian positions. One of the Ukrainian fortified positions near Krymske was attacked with the use of 120mm mortars, while the defenders of Vodiane came under fire from heavy machine guns and small arms. There have been no casualties among Ukrainian troops since the start of the day," reads the report.
