Russian-led forces mounted 27 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in the last 24 hours.

"No casualties among the Ukrainian troops have been reported in the past day. According to intelligence reports, one occupier was killed and another seven were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 8, 2018.

Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Svitlodarsk and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Vilniy, Yekaterynivka, Novozvanivka, Luhanske, Novoluhanske, Novomykhailivka, Novotroyitske, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne.

In addition, the enemy resorted to 122mm artillery systems to shell a Ukrainian fortified position near Vodiane. The Ukrainian positions near Luhanske, Svitlodarsk, Novoluhanske, Vodiane, and Lebedynske came under fire from 120mm mortars, while those near Novotoshkivske, Luhanske and Hnutove were attacked with the use of 82mm mortars. Moreover, the occupiers fired from weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles at the defenders of Krymske, Novozvanivka, Vodiane and Lebedynske. Furthermore, the Ukrainian positions near Vilniy came under fire from a ZU-23-2 towed 23mm anti-aircraft twin-barreled autocannon. The defenders of Hnutove came under sniper fire.

"Since Monday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted six attacks on the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne, using weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms. No heavy weapons were used. No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported since the start of the day," reads the report.
