Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 39 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another two as wounded in action (WIA).
"One Ukrainian soldier was killed and another two were wounded in the past day. According to intelligence reports, three occupiers were killed and another five were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 10, 2018.
Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Zolote, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, and Maryinka. The following villages were also under fire: Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Novozvanivka, Luhanske, Novoluhanske, Travneve, Zalizne, Pisky, Novomykhailivka, Berezove, Novotroyitske, Starohnativka, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne.
The enemy also resorted to 152mm artillery systems to shell the Ukrainian fortified position near Novotoshkivske, while the defenders of Vodiane were attacked with the use of 122mm artillery systems. In addition, the Ukrainian positions near Luhanske, Hnutove, and Lebedynske came under fire from 120mm mortars, while those near Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Zolote, Novozvanivka, Luhanske, Novoluhanske, and Vodiane were attacked from 82mm mortars. Furthermore, the occupiers resorted to cannons of infantry fighting vehicles to fire at the defenders of Krymske and Novozvanivka, as well as anti-tank guided missiles near Zolote.
"Since Wednesday midnight, Russian-led forces have attacked the Ukrainian positions near Hnutove and Shyrokyne, using heavy machine guns and small arms. No heavy weapons have been used. No Ukrainian army casualties have been reported since the start of the day," reads the report.
