Russian-led forces mounted 27 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, in the last 24 hours.

"No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported in the past day. According to intelligence reports, two occupiers were killed and another six were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 12, 2018.

Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Svitlodarsk, Krasnohorivka and Maryinka, and the villages of Krymske, Novozvanivka, Troyitske, Luhanske, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne.

In addition, the enemy resorted to 120mm mortars to shell the Ukrainian positions near Luhanske, Chermalyk and Lebedynske, while those near Luhanske, Svitlodarsk and Hnutove came under fire from 82mm mortars. Moreover, the Russian-led forces used weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles to attack the defenders of Vodiane.

"Since Friday midnight, Russian-led forces have mounted three attacks on the Ukrainian positions near Maryinka, and the villages of Taramchuk and Hnutove, using grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms. No heavy weapons have been used. No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported since the start of the day," reads the report.
