Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 17 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action (WIA).

"One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in the past day. According to intelligence reports, one occupier was killed and another five were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update published on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on October 26, 2018.

Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the defenders of the towns of Zolote, Svitlodarsk, Avdiyivka, Maryinka, and Krasnohorivka. The villages of Luhanske, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Vodiane, Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne were also under attack.

"The enemy resorted to cannons of infantry fighting vehicles and 120mm mortars to shell the Ukrainian positions near the town of Svitlodarsk, while the Ukrainian fortified positions near Luhanske and Avdiyivka were attacked with the use of 82mm mortars. The Ukrainian positions near Avdiyivka came under enemy fire four times, the invaders used grenade launchers and small arms, and later 82mm mortars there. The Ukrainian troops are holding their positions, keeping the situation under control and are ready to respond to drastic changes in the situation. In addition, the Russian occupiers have cynically fired several times on our fortified positions not far from Pavlopil and Shyrokyne. In all cases, adequate measures, including preventive ones, are being taken," the update said.

"Since Friday midnight, Russian-led forces haven't attacked the Ukrainian positions yet," the report said.
