Russia's hybrid military forces mounted 16 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA).
"One Ukrainian soldier was killed in action in the past day. According to intelligence reports, two occupiers were killed and another two were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on November 18, 2018.
The Russian occupation forces opened fire from 82mm mortars at the Ukrainian positions near the town of Svitlodarsk, and the villages of Pishchane, Zholobok, Novotoshkivske, Orikhove, Vilniy, and Troyitske. In addition, the enemy used 120mm mortars near Zholobok, Vilniy and Svitlodarsk.
What is more, the Ukrainian fortified positions near the towns of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Berezove, Hnutove, Lebedynske and Shyrokyne were attacked with the use of small arms and grenade launchers.
"Since Sunday midnight, Russian-led forces have attacked the Ukrainian positions near Hnutove, using heavy grenade launchers and small arms. No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported since the start of the day," the report said.
