Militants shell border guards with Grad rockets 8 times in last day
Over the last day Russian-backed militants in Ukraine’s Donbas conflict zone have launched eight Grad rocket attacks on Ukrainian State Border Service units and positions, the State Border Service reported on Monday.
The service said that despite constant attacks from mortars and artillery, border guards together with units of the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine are continuing to carry out their tasks along the demarcation line between the ATO forces and Russian-backed militants.
"Yesterday, the Gnutovo checkpoint on the Novoazovsk-Krasnoarmejsk-Talakovka-Mariupol route was shelled four times,” the service said.
“Shelling from Grad rocket system was launched also on a checkpoint located on the Fashchivka-Debaltseve-Artemivsk route, where border guards are on duty together with Ukrainian Armed Forces military. One shell exploded three meters away from a dugout. The shelling damaged a service car and injured a Ukrainian soldier."
