Parties to conflict in Donbas agree on New Year truce from Dec 29 – Ukrainian envoy
Ukraine's envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) at the Minsk talks on Donbas Yevgenij Marchuk has said the parties to the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine agreed on an indefinite truce starting midnight December 29.
"We emphasized that this 'truce' should be ultimately used for repairing critical infrastructure facilities. Unfortunately, there are several such objects," the official told Pryamyi TV Channel.
Marchuk expressed the hope the truce would begin next night, i.e. from midnight December 29.
Earlier, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation said that the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine performing tasks in Donbas would remain in full combat readiness after the completion of martial law.
