A member of Ukraine's Air Assault Brigade went missing in action near an observation post outside the village of Pavlopil in Donetsk region in the early hours of January 23.

The missing serviceman is a member of a reconnaissance platoon of the 79th Air Assault Brigade (Mykolaiv) of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, the brigade said on Facebook on Wednesday, January 23.

Measures are being taken to establish his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, members of the Russian-backed "Donetsk People's Republic" ("DPR") terrorist organization announced on January 23 that they had captured a Ukrainian soldier.

As was reported earlier, Russian-led forces attacked Ukrainian positions in Donbas four times on January 22. On that day, a mine clearance specialist of the Ukrainian State Emergencies Service in Donetsk region was injured amid shelling while he was examining the Maryinka-Krasnohorivka gas pipeline.
