Donbas warzone update: Russian-led forces mount three attacks on Ukraine army on Jan 25
Russia's hybrid military forces mounted three attacks on the Ukrainian army in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, from 00:00 to 18:00 Kyiv time on Friday, January 25.
"The enemy attacked our troops' positions three times from 00:00 to 18:00. The enemy hit Ukrainian defenders near the village of Katerynivka in the Pivnich (North) sector, using an anti-tank guided missile, as a result of which one serviceman was killed and another four were wounded," the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) press center said on Facebook in an evening update as of 18:00 on January 25.
The wounded were hospitalized and provided with necessary medical aid. "There is no threat to their lives now," it said.
Russian-led forces also attacked Ukrainian positions near the village of Shyrokyne in the Skhid (East) sector twice. They used grenade launchers and large-caliber weapons.
The Ukrainian army used conventional weapons to fire back.
Ukraine's intelligence reported that two Russian fighters had been killed, another one had been wounded.
The situation in Donbas is under control, the JFO JQ said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed and four were wounded in an attack on their vehicle, which was hit by an enemy anti-tank guided missile on Friday morning.
