From day-start to 18:00 on Wednesday, Jan 30, Russian occupation forces in eastern Ukraine's Donbas fired three times at the positions of the Ukrainian troops, according to the Joint Forces' press center.

The militants employed weapons proscribed by the Minsk agreements.

"In the action area of the Pivnich [North] Tactical Grouping, mercenaries fired at positions of the Ukrainian military near the village of Kriakivka using 82mm mortars, and near the Vilniy settlement – using automatic grenade launchers and small arms," reads the JFO HQ report.

In the zone of responsibility of the Skhid [East] Tactical Grouping, militants fired at the positions of our defenders from grenade launchers in the area of Pavlopil, the report says.

The JFO press center says Ukrainian troops sustained no casualties as a result of the unlawful shelling by Russian occupation forces.

Joint Forces suppressed enemy fire using weapons that are not banned by Minsk agreements, the report adds.

"The situation in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation remains under control of the Ukrainian military," the JFO press service says.
