Donbas war update: Ukraine reports one wounded soldier in past day
Russia's hybrid military forces in the past 24 hours mounted 10 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action.
"One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in the past day. According to intelligence reports, one invader was killed and another five were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update published on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on February 18, 2019.
Russian occupation forces opened fire from 82mm and 120mm mortars, weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms, attacking the defenders of the villages of Lebedynske, Pisky, Vodiane, Pavlopil, Katerynivka, Troyitske, Novoluhanske, and Stanytsia Luhanska.
Moreover, yesterday, an observation group of the Ukrainian members of the Joint Control and Coordination Center (JCCC) was attacked by Russian proxy forces who fired a tripod-mounted man-portable antitank gun as the observers were moving along the contact line near the village of Travneve.
"Since Monday midnight, Russian-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions near Katerynivka, using 120mm and 82mm mortars," the report said.
A video was uploaded on Facebook of Joint Forces destroying an enemy machine gunner's position.
