Russia's hybrid military forces in the past 24 hours mounted 14 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action (WIA).

"On February 22, Russian occupation troops 14 times violated the cease-fire regime, including eight times with the use of arms banned by Minsk accords," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on February 23, 2019.

In the Skhid (East) sector, Russia's hybrid military forces shelled Ukrainian positions near the village of Lebedynske, using 120 mortars, an antitank missile system, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns, while 120 mortars, large-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers of various systems were used near the village of Vodiane. The enemy opened fire from hand-held and under-barrel grenade launchers, as well as from small arms near the town of Avdiyivka. In addition, a sniper was active on the outskirts of Maryinka.

Ukrainian positions near the village of Novozvanivka in the Pivnich (North) sector came under fire from 120mm mortars and tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns. Ukrainian strongholds near the village of Katerynivka were attacked with the use of 82mm mortars, heavy machine guns and tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns. The enemy also opened fire from 82mm mortars near the village of Krymske, from grenade launchers of various systems – outside the village of Luhanske, and from small arms – near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska.

The Ukrainian military fired back, using allowed weapons.

According to intelligence reports, eight invaders were killed and another two were wounded. Ukrainian military also destroyed two tactical vehicles of the Russian proxy forces in Donbas.

"Since Sunday midnight, Russian-led forces haven't attacked Ukrainian positions yet," the report said.
