Russia deploys Iskander missile systems near Ukrainian border – Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said the Russian Federation has been deploying attack missile units with Iskander tactical missile systems near the border with Ukraine.
"Missile units equipped with Iskander systems are being formed and deployed near our borders," he said at a meeting with senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv, an UNIAN correspondent reported.
According to the president, the creation of attack forces in the western and south-western strategic directions has absolutely nothing to do with defense for the Russian Federation.
"We are aware that those forces are intended for a military strike, and this is exactly what the Kremlin is preparing for," Poroshenko said.
