Russia's hybrid military forces mounted nine attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in the past 24 hours, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action.
"One Ukrainian soldier was killed in the past day. According to intelligence reports, four invaders were killed and another one was wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on March 5, 2019.
Russian occupation forces opened aimed fire from a tank, 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, anti-tank missile systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms to attack the defenders of the villages of Lebedynske, Vodiane, Shyrokyne, Pisky, Zaitseve, Novotoshkivske, Krymske, and Stanytsia Luhanska.
Terrorists also employed mortars to attack residential buildings in the villages of Zaitseve and Novoluhanske. A house and outbuildings were partially damaged as a result of the shelling.
"Since Tuesday midnight, Russian-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions near Krymske, using 82mm mortars," the report said.
