Militants violate ‘ceasefire’ in Debaltseve, Donetsk and Mariupol 12 times over night
Russian-backed militants in the Donbas continued their attacks on the positions of Ukrainian forces overnight, the government’s Anti-Terrorist Operation spokesperson Anatoliy Stelmach said at a briefing on Tuesday.
The violations of the ceasefire occurred most often in the Debaltseve area, where the militants launched attacks on settlement of Popasna seven times, from 2000 to 2200 last night, and on the village of Luhanske one time.
In the Donetsk area, the militants shelled Opytne, Tonenke, and Avdiyivka using artillery and mortars. In addition, in the area of the Dutov mine at around 2100 enemy infantry units tried to attack Ukrainian positions.
Near Mariupol the militants have continued to attack Ukrainian forces’ positions near the village of Shyrokino. The fighting started at around 0145 and continued for half an hour.
No attacks have been recorded in the area of Luhansk. In total, last night the militants launched attacks on Ukrainian forces 12 times.
