Two members of Ukraine's Joint Forces have been killed in action and another two have been wounded in action amid 10 enemy attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, since Tuesday midnight.

"As a result of the attacks, two members of the Joint Forces were killed and another two were wounded. The units under attack fired back, using available weapons. Information about enemy losses is being verified," the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) press center said on Facebook on Tuesday, April 2.

"Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has already mounted 10 attacks on our troops' positions, using proscribed weapons in ten instances," it added.

In particular, Russia-led forces used 120mm and 82mm mortars to shell Ukrainian troops stationed near the village of Verkhniotoretske, grenade launchers were used near the town of Avdiyivka, the villages of Hnutove and Shyrokyne – all four attacks were recorded in the JFO's Skhid (East) sector.

Six attacks were reported in the JFO's Pivnich (North) sector: 152mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars and small arms were used in three attacks near the village of Novozvanivka, 120mm mortars were used near the village of Katerynivka, and 120mm mortars and grenade launchers were twice used near the town of Popasna.

According to the JFO press center, the situation in Donbas remains under control.
