Russian occupation forces in Donbas eight times violated the ceasefire on Monday, April 8.
As a result of the shelling, one Ukrainian soldier died and another two were injured, according to the press center of the Joint Forces Operation.
In the zone of responsibility of the Skhid [East] Operational-Tactical Grouping, militants six times fired at Ukrainian strongholds.
Enemy fired 82mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and, small arms. Positions of Ukraine troops near Pisky came under fire of 82mm mortars and anti-tank grenade launchers.
Militants fired anti-tank missile systems and heavy anti-tank grenade launchers on the Joint Forces' units near Opytne, and grenade launchers of various systems – on strong points in the Avdiyivka area.
In addition, the militants shelled Ukrainian positions near Verkhniotoretske from large caliber machine guns and near Kamenka – anti-tank grenade launchers.
In the area of responsibility of the "Pivnich" [North] Operational-Tactical Grouping, militants twice fired at the positions of the Joint Forces from 82mm mortars and heavy anti-tank grenade launchers near Zolote-4 and from 82mm mortars near – Luhanske.
It is noted that the Ukrainian military returned fire in response to the shelling.
The JF Staff assured that Ukraine troops retained control of the overall situation along the line of demarcation.
