EU gives 15 armored vehicles to OSCE observers in Ukraine
The OSCE special monitoring mission to Ukraine has received 15 armored vehicles from the EU, the press service of the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the OSCE reported on Twitter on Thursday.
"A total of 15 armored vehicles of the EU were transported by air to Ukraine by the Swedish armed forces in order to further support the OSCE mission in Ukraine," the report says.
Under the Minsk accords implementation agreement signed on February 12, the OSCE is charged with monitoring the ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons by both sides in eastern Ukraine. It should also monitor the parts of Ukraine’s border with Russia where militants have seized control from the Ukrainian authorities.
