Russia-led forces mounted eight attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, in the past 24 hours.

"No Ukrainian Army casualties were reported in the past day. According to intelligence reports, two invaders were killed and another five were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on April 18, 2019.

During the period under review, Russian occupation forces opened fire from 82mm mortars, weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms to attack the Ukrainian positions near the villages of Mykolaivka, Vodiane, Pisky, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, Shyrokyne, and Novoselivka Druha.

"Since Thursday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions near the town of Svitlodarsk, using tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns and heavy machine guns. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded. Data on enemy losses are being verified," the report said.
