Russia's hybrid military forces on May 1 mounted 18 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, with two Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action.

"Two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in the past day. According to intelligence reports, five invaders were killed and another two were wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update published on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on May 2, 2019.

Russian occupation forces opened fire from 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the towns of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Avdiyivka, as well as near the villages of Pisky, Novomykhailivka, Mykolayivka, Novotroyitske, Pavlopil, Nevelske, Pishchevyk, Verkhniotoretske, Shyrokyne, Hranitne, Lebedynske, Pivdenne, and Stanytsia Luhanska.

"From midnight on Thursday, Russia-led forces attacked Ukrainian positions near Maryinka, Lebedynske and Pavlopil, using grenade launchers of various types and heavy machine guns. There were no casualties among the Ukrainian military [on Thursday]," the report said.
