One Ukrainian soldier has been wounded in action in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, in the past day.

In total, there were 14 enemy attacks on Ukrainian positions on May 9; banned weapons – 120mm mortars – were used in two instances, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said on Facebook in a morning update on May 10.

Russia-led forces used 120mm mortars, weapons of infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.

Hot spots in the Skhid (East) sector were the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Pyshchevyk, Opytne, Bohdanivka, Chermalyk, Novselivka Druha, and Starohnativka.

In the Pivnich (North) sector, Russia-led forces shelled the village of Novozvanivka and the town of Svitlodarsk.

Ukrainian armed forces fired back, the JFO press center said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, one Ukrainian soldier was killed in action in Donbas on May 8.
