Militants shell Ukrainian positions in Donbas 36 times on March 12 – ATO press center
Illegal armed groups continued shelling on the positions of the Ukrainian anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces, as well as on villages and towns on March 12.
In particular, militants used grenade launchers and mortars 16 times and small arms 20 times from 0600 to 1800 Kyiv time on Thursday.
"The Donetsk sector remains the epicenter of hostilities. The enemy has used 120mm and 82mm caliber mortars and grenade launchers to shell Pisky, Opytne and Butivka coalmine. What is more, at 1150 Kyiv time the gun of an enemy infantry fighting vehicle was firing at our troops near the town of Avdiyivka," the ATO press center said.
Militants near the village of Shyrokyne in the Mariupol sector did not stop shelling either. They attacked the village with various types of weapons four times.
"Small arms were used by the enemy three times to fire at the village of Leninske near Artemivsk. They also used an automatic grenade launcher to shell the town of Mayorsk," the ATO press center said.
