One Ukrainian soldier wounded in Donbas amid five enemy attacks in past day
Russia's hybrid military forces in the past 24 hours mounted five attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action.
"One member of the Joint Forces was wounded amid shelling. Each enemy attack had an adequate response. According to intelligence reports, two occupiers were killed and another one was wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on May 23, 2019.
What is more, Ukrainian troops destroyed an enemy infantry fighting vehicle and a military truck.
Russian occupation forces opened fire from 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Under attack were Ukrainian positions near the towns of Maryinka and Popasna, as well as near the villages of Zolote-4 and Novo-Oleksandrivka.
"Since Thursday midnight, there have been no attacks by Russia-led forces," the report said.
