One Ukrainian soldier was killed in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, on Wednesday.
"One member of the Joint Forces was killed as a result of enemy shelling," the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters said on Facebook in an evening update on June 5.

"Armed formations of the Russian Federation opened fire on our positions, using hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, small arms and sniper rifles," it said.
In total, there were five enemy attacks over the period under review.
Hot spots were Takakivka, Vodiane, Novohryhorivka, and Zolote-1 (two attacks).
Ukrainian troops fired back. Information about enemy losses is being verified.
