Militants fire on Ukrainian army eight times in last day
Russian-backed militants fired on the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces eight times from 2000 on Thursday to 0800 on Friday, the headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Operation reported on Friday.
According to the report, the number of militant attacks has decreased, but they still continue firing heavy artillery on the Ukrainian army.
"In the direction of Donetsk, at 2045 the militants fired 120mm mortars on our positions near the village of Slavne. They also fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on the village of Pisky," the headquarters said.
In addition, the militants used 120mm mortars near Mariupol. From 2255 to 0100 the militants attacked the village of Shyrokyne.
After midnight, in Luhansk region the militants fired small arms on the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces near the village of Sokolnyky.
"In general, from 2000 on March 26 to midnight the militants fired on our positions seven times, while one more case of violation of the ceasefire was recorded from midnight to 0500," the report says.
