Russia's hybrid military forces on Thursday mounted 30 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action (KIA) and another six as wounded in action (WIA).

"One serviceman of the Joint Forces was killed and another six were wounded amid shelling. Each enemy attack saw an adequate response. According to intelligence reports, two occupiers were killed and another one was wounded," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on July 5, 2019.

Russian occupation forces opened fire from 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, weapons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and sniper and small arms.

Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the towns of Avdiyivka, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, and Popasna, and the villages of Opytne, Lebedynske, Berezove, Pisky, Vodiane, Shyrokyne, Novhorodske, Krymske, Novotoshkivske, Luhanske, Pivdenne, Novoluhanske, Khutir Vilniy, and Zolote-4.

"From midnight on Friday, Russia-led forces attacked Ukrainian positions six times near the villages of Vodiane, Bohdanivka, Novotroyitske, Mykolaivka, Krymske, and Novotoshkivske, using 82mm mortars, an anti-tank missile system, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms. There were no casualties among the Ukrainian military [on Friday]," the report said.
