Militants storm two positions ATO forces, violate ceasefire 10 times
The Ukrainian military on Thursday evening repelled militant attacks on two of its positions and pushed rebel forces back to their previous positions, the ATO press center wrote on Facebook on Friday.
"During yesterday evening, April 2, the situation in the ATO area remained difficult. From 1800 to midnight there were 10 cases of violations of the ceasefire by the armed gangs," the statement reads.
At 1840 gunmen fired at a Ukrainian position near Novgorod. And at 2005 a military clash started that lasted for 50 minutes. Ukrainian soldiers held their positions and repelled the militants, the press center said.
"Our soldiers held back the insurgents at a fortification near the Dutovka mine during military clashes at 2330. The battle lasted until half past midnight," according to the press center.
Also, along the demarcation line fighters attacked Ukrainian military positions near the settlements of Shyrokino, Avdiyivka, Granitne, Opytne and Maryinka.
The militants used small arms and grenade launchers during these attacks, the press center said.
