Chairman of Luhansk Regional Military and Civil Administration Vitaliy Komarnytskiy has said the first stage of a mine clearance operation in the region has been completed.
Demining teams of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have cleared about 44 hectares (ha) of farmland and 16 ha of roads and the forest belt from explosive objects, he said, according to the administration's press service.
In particular, areas in the villages of Krasniy Derkul, Shyrokiy, Krasna Talivka, and Nyzhniobaranykivka have been checked for landmines.
The demining of areas near the Stanytsia Luhanska entry and exit checkpoint at the destroyed bridge is underway.
"It is recommended that owners of checked land plots take into account risks associated with Russian aggression, subversive groups' trespassing [on their land] to set explosive objects," the press service added.
