Russia's hybrid military forces on Friday mounted 12 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the [recently introduced] ceasefire 12 times on August 16," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 17, 2019.

The enemy opened fire from grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the town of Maryinka, and the villages of Lebedynske, Vodiane, Novoluhanske, Zaitseve, and Krymske.

According to the update, there were no casualties among the Ukrainian military in the past day.

From Saturday midnight, Russia-led forces attacked Ukrainian positions near the village of Pavlopil once, using an automatic grenade launcher.
