Russia's hybrid military forces on August 21 mounted seven attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as wounded in action (WIA).
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the ceasefire seven times on August 21. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded as a result of enemy shelling," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Headquarters said in an update posted on Facebook as of 07:00 Kyiv time on August 22.
The enemy opened fire from grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and small arms. Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the town of Avdiyivka, and the villages of Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Starohnativka, and Lebedynske.
"From Thursday midnight, Russia-led forces have opened fire on Ukrainian positions twice near the villages of Vodiane and Novotroyitske, using tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns and small arms," the report said.
