One Ukrainian soldier killed amid seven enemy attacks in Donbas since Monday midnight
Russian-led forces have mounted seven attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas since Monday midnight, with one Ukrainian soldier reported as killed in action.
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries have violated the ceasefire seven times since the beginning of the current day, September 2. One Ukrainian soldier was killed during a combat mission," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in an evening update posted on Facebook.
The enemy opened fire from proscribed 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, cannons installed on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of various types, heavy machine guns, and sniper and small arms. Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the villages of Vodiane, Hranitne, Lebedynske, Novomykhailivka, and Novovtoshkivske.
