Russia's hybrid military forces on Sunday mounted 16 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.
"The armed forces of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated the ceasefire 16 times on September 15," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation said in a Facebook update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on September 16, 2019.
The enemy opened fire from proscribed 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems, and small arms. Under attack came Ukrainian positions near the towns of Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, and Maryinka, and the villages of Novohnativka, Mykolaivka, Vodiane, Lebedynske, Pyshchevyk, Novoluhanske, Zaitseve, and Travneve.
According to the update, there were no casualties among the Ukrainian military in the past day.
"From Monday midnight, Russia-led forces attacked Ukrainian positions twice near the villages of Pyshchevyk and Luhanske, using grenade launchers of various types and small arms. One Ukrainian soldier has been wounded as a result of enemy shelling," the update said.
